SAN ANGELO — With no vacant kennels readily available at the animal shelter, Concho Valley PAWS is “begging the community for enable” by providing no cost pet adoptions for a limited time.

On Wednesday, Feb. 2, the non-earnings said they had zero empty kennels with more than 350 animals accessible to be fostered or adopted. A spokesperson for Concho Valley PAWS said the range of animals at the shelter could effects San Angelo’s ability to be a “no-eliminate” group.

In 2021, the City of San Angelo and Concho Valley PAWS celebrated a milestone — identifying San Angelo as a “no-eliminate” community meaning 90% of the animals remaining the shelter as a result of local adoptions, out of condition adoptions and through return to proprietor applications. 

“No-get rid of is not a ultimate place, it can be a way of performing small business,” Jenie Wilson, Concho Valley PAWS Govt Director, stated. “Often, in a community with so several unaltered pets, keeping the no-destroy initiative alive can be a battle. We are suffering from that now,” Wilson stated.
