THUNDER BAY — A new initiative at the Thunder Bay Correctional Centre is boosting inmate morale when concurrently encouraging rescue canine get ready for adoption.
The system, named Canine Connections, sees a regional animal rescue group deliver dogs to the Freeway 61 facility for coaching and obedience lessons.
Shawn Bradshaw, president of the OPSEU Local 708 that represents staff members at the correctional centre, believes this is a to start with in Ontario.
